DETAILS OF THE ASSIGNMENT
Due Dates: January 10 (1st Semester) and May 4 (2nd Semester)
One of the things that will make you a better musician is to experience live performances by professional musicians. There are great concerts performed regularly in Charlotte and we would like for you to attend one each semester.
Each performance must involve stringed instruments in your orchestra class for at least 75% of the program.
You will need to turn in two things ON CANVAS: A ticket stub or program with your name on it (it can be returned by request) A video of you reporting your observations of the concert with the stage in the background (not while a group is performing-DO NOT START YOUR VIDEO until applause has ended and house lights have come up).
Your report SHOULD INCLUDE the title and date of the event, and can include musical observations, reactions to interpretations, reactions to the music, communication between players, conductor styles, etc. The report must be between 30 and 90 seconds.
**You will upload your video and program/ticket stub to CANVAS. **
Notes:
Your project will NOT be graded if:
- It is turned in late.
- The video is taken during the concert. (This is concert etiquette. Put your phone away until it's over!)
- Your video is shorter than 30 seconds, or longer than 2 minutes.
- The concert does not involve instruments from your class for over 75% of the performance.
